To celebrate the informal launch of the Routledge Handbook of Contract Farming and Development, Prof. Niels Fold from the University of Wageningen and Dr. Mark Vicol from the University of Copenhagen visited our Research Group in Bonn. They co-edited the Handbook and contributed as authors together with the leader of our DFG Emmy Noether Junior Research Group, Dr. Caroline Hambloch and Dr. Sudha Narayanan, currently working for the International Food Policy Research Institute. Luis Baquero, one of the doctoral students in our research group also contributed to the handbook as the co-author of the chapter on exploitation in contract farming, as did the student assistants Julie Sulser and Katharina Kreft, who both helped coordinate the authors’ contributions, editing the chapters, and handling administrative tasks. Together with them and the other PHD-students in our research group, Elise Kendall and Jorma Apelt, as well as the head of the Department of Southeast Asian Studies, Prof. Kristina Großmann, and Dr. Oliver Pye, we celebrated the handbook properly with a short presentation on the handbook, having meals and drinks together as well as a Sightseeing tour in Bonn.
