Luis Baquero
Luis is a PhD researcher in Development Studies. He holds an MSc in Rural Development, an international program coordinated by Ghent University (Belgium), and an interdisciplinary BSc in Ecology (Colombia). Luis has worked with both local and international NGOs in humanitarian and development contexts. In roles such as Data Manager and GIS Specialist, he has supported data-driven approaches to humanitarian needs assessments, land governance, commodity chain analysis, legal activism, and community-based conflict resolution.
His research focuses on the social configurations of agricultural production. He examines the fragmentation of workers and the politics of labour disputes within global value chains, drawing on insights from agrarian political economy, economic sociology, and social reproduction theory.
