The Department of Islamic Studies is one of the nine departments of the Institute for Oriental and Asian Studies (Institut für Orient- und Asienwissenschaften, IOA).
Islamic Studies may be studied in Bonn as a concentration subject within the BA degree ‘Asian Studies’, where it may be combined with the languages Arabic, Persian or Turkish. At the postgraduate level the department offers an independent MA programme in Islamic Studies.
